So I'm looking at going to Tulane next year, but one of my major concerns is the food. I'm a vegetarian, no fish either, and I want to know how difficult it is to find vegetarian food, both in the school and outside. I know that New Orleans has a lot of meat, especially fish, in their food, and was wondering how easy or difficult it is to find vegetarian options in the city. I'm sure there are things I can eat, I'm just wondering if they are very few, or more than I thought. I mean, I like my food :P so I don't really want to just "make do" when I go to college.

Thanks

If you look at the website, it gives you sample menus for a week or so. They are flagged for veggie, healthy choices, etc. Take a look at it. As to the off campus options, I’m not so sure. My S is making his first visit in April.

in case you don’t know, there is a huge Whole Foods pretty close to campus on Magazine Street, so you could stock up there on things that you eat.

I’m a vegan, and it really isn’t too hard to find things. Just ask and most people are happy to say if anything is against your diet.

There are many Jewish people here who stay Kosher by going veggie, so it’s more common than normal.
