hi!
ok we only need two credits to fulfill ger 6....and i am planning on joining the symphony orchestra which counts as one credit and i want to be in orchestra all four years so does that mean i will have 8 credits for GER 6???
and I also want to take intro to creative writing. i've always been really interested in creative writing but is this a waste of my time because i will already have GER 6 fulfilled by orchestra and intro to creative writing is worth two credits for GER 6?

is this how it works?

After a year of orchestra, you’ll be done GER6. If you really want to take creative writing you should, you need 120 credits to graduate and your major and GER requirements probably won’t take more than half of that.

I’d say get your GERs out of the way before taking creative writing.

If you aren’t done with the rest, then doubling up on GER6 isn’t ideal.

But like the person above me said, you will probably have time for both.

For most classes I would agree, but Intro to Creative Writing is only for freshman and sophomores with a lot of the seats reserved for freshmen. It will probably be harder to get into later on.

Ok thanks guys!
and just one more question.
If I’ve taken Calculus in highschool but no AP credit because school didn’t offer ap classes, do I take Cal1 or Cal2? i’ve already had a year of calculus thought i have no college credit//?

Don’t not take a class simply because you’ll fulfill the GER elsewhere. If you want to do both orchestra and Creative Writing, do it.

As for which calc to take, that might be a good question to ask your advisor when you meet with him/her during Orientation.
