So I signed up for a decal, and now I don't want to take it. It's P/NP (like all decals) and I was wondering what would happen if I just didn't go and got a NP? Does that have any negative effect at all?

And it's too late to drop it.

getting a P usually isn’t too hard… Just suck it up and do the work?

It’s mostly the 2 hours every Monday night I don’t want to spend.

Well, what I’ve heard from others is that unless you’re trying to get into med school, a NP isn’t really a big deal. I’m not sure though… Personally I’d just try to get the P, to be safe. :p

It just looks kind of stupid on your transcript if you get a NP in a 2 unit special studies course. Just saying.

if you are planning to go to law school, be careful. LSAC converts NP into F for the law schools the applicant is applying to.
