Question about GPA rankings

All the UC's give these GPA rankings i.e. 4.0 w above has a 51 percent to make it, 3.7-3.99 has a 15 percent chance of making it. Are ppl grouped into certain GPA groups? or just people with under 4.0's generally dont have strong stats else where?

I HATE MY GPA ALSDFJKASDF

a teeny bit of advice-

stop stressing out.

there's nothing you can do about it at this point, so chill.

seriously.

all will be well.

What? I'm confused...

I had a 3.67/3.91 UC GPA and got in CSE and OOS. I was very worried about rejection, but I still got in. I also had a so so SAT (2150 one-sitting) and mediocre essays. So UCLA, at the very least, must still consider extracurriculars, because that was pretty much the only redeeming part of my application.

(I focused a LOT on engineering, had internships, started a few teams and was captain of a few.)

I wouldn't worry too much about that stat anymore....remember, holistic admissions.

oh okay lol cuz i think everything on my app is solid cept my 3.8 w uc gpa. but k ill take ur advice allie

karch, 2150 is not so so.

LOL 3.8 and 2140..im kinda close..:D instate though hehe

4.3 and 1830... I took the SATs the day after my AP CALCULUS and HONORS PHYSICS finals... big mistake. I was practically brain dead. x_x

its okay..i made the big mistake of taking 3 honors classes in soph year and having none of the extra points pay off. what a waste of taking 3 h classes for no reason. i thikn a 4.3 and 1830 si better then a 3.8 and a 2140

"so so SAT (2150 one-sitting)"

are you joking?
