is there anyone who got a UC GPA less than 4.0? I just recalculated my GPA and it's less than the average GPA of 4.1.

There's definitely students w/ GPAs under the average...don't worry too much

I wouldn't worry- GPA alone won't make or break you unless your GPA is kind of low without much else to compensate for it. And remember, if that's the average GPA, that means that there were people admitted with above a 4.1 but that plenty of people were admitted with below a 4.1 as well.

I was admitted with a 3.96. My SAT compensated though.

So it's very possible. I also have a friend who got in with a 3.7.

i was admitted with UC gpa 3.86 (or somewhere around there)

the average is 4.25 not, 4.1

UCLA:

Average weighted GPA: 4.26
Average unweighted GPA: 3.81
Average UC GPA: 4.13

funnyman can you tell me what you got on the SAT?

so i have 4.18 UC, and 4.0 unweighted, but my SAT is 1870, does my gpa compensate??

^not really. it helps a little.

de la noche:

UCLA: Reach (out of state)

flopsy are you certain avearge UC GPA is 4.13? I checked their website and they said it was 4.25?

i have like a 3.9 UC GPA. Do you guys think UCLA will be a match if i have a 2230 on the SAT I and show a lot of musical talent and leadership? (winning awards and participating in a professional symphony.)

i think you definitely have a good chance.

sliguy: not exactly a match, but id say a slight reach. actually if your music ECs are really really good, then you may be a match.

bruinboy can you tell me how you got in with a 3.86 GPA? was it SAT scores or application, etc...? thanks

to be honest with you, i have no idea either. Nothing stellar on SATs (i got a 2100) and i had some decent ECs.

although there are trends, admissions is ultimately unpredictable...they might spot something unique about you that you might not even know about... again, don't stress too much!
