Question about GPA/SAT

Approximately what percentile would a SAT score of 2270 be in the range of SAT scores of the incoming freshmen class?

And what percentile would a GPA of 3.5 unweighted be?

Would Chicago be more forgiving of a low GPA if it is due to bad frosh/soph years?

Basically, If I received straight As 11th and 12 grade, would Chicago view me as a 4.0 student?

Here are the statistics for a few of the past classes:

Notice that they do not provide any GPA recalculations. No one can answer any of your questions wrt GPA. We need your specific section scores for the SAT to evaluate that score - U(C) does not consider the writing section.

Would Chicago be more forgiving of a low GPA if it is due to bad frosh/soph years?

I want to know too.

I believe that an "upward trend" is worth a lot. People find their academic footing at different times-- for some it doesn't happen 'til late in college. All anyone can do is apply and see what happens.

If you're applying to UofC only because they don't seem to put as much weight on the GPA and thus may overlook your poor grades, you're applying for the wrong reason. This is a tough school from what I've heard and you'll find it out the hard way if you manage to get in.
