It looks like my S wants to wait until later in April to make a decision on a college. PSU is one of top options. Is there a risk with waiting so late for housing. I know someone that paid for registration just to make sure her D gets the housing she wants, even though she is still undecided and they may lose the money. What is the risk of waiting until mid to late April? He was thinking of E-house or at the lease FISE in east halls. Any opinions?

I have never heard of someone not getting into a requested SLO. (My son was in E-House for two years; feel free to PM if you have questions.) Otoh, isn’t the housing deposit refundable?

I can’t speak for the special living options, but my daughter is still undecided, and I put the deposit down in February in order to keep her options open and to avoid supplemental housing. I believe that if you wait until late April, you could very well end up with supplemental housing. I’m sure it’s not the end of the world, but definitely not a good situation for certain kids depending on his or her personality.
