So if I applied for CSS, I know I was supposed to turn in additional supporting documents to the IDOC.

However, I'm SURE I read somewhere that you could either send it to the college using the CSS Profile or the IDOC. (<---can someone please verify that)

I turned my stuff into my college...do I still absolutely need to turn it into the IDOC?

There is no way folks on this forum will be able to answer that question, especially since you don’t mention your school’s name. You need to call the school for the answer.

Each college is different. My own D applied to 8 colleges. Only 5 required CSS Profile.

One you filed the CSS Profile, you should have gotten an e-mail from them in February that said “OK, now it’s time for IDOC, here are your personalized requirements”. And then you get a list of things you need to do/send.

Of my daughter’s 5 schools…4 wanted documents. I sent the documents to IDOC, and only 3 of them took them from there. The fourth didn’t request them, said they had all the info they needed. But the 5th one asked for a direct mailing to the school.

So…there is no generic answer for this - you have to check what CSS Profile sent you as far as instructions (and/or the college website/financial aid office directly-THAT site will probably be where you find out if they accept the documents directly…only example I’m CERTAIN of - is that Columbia University DOES want them sent directly to the school. Can’t personally answer about any other colleges).

Luck.
