L&S Majors - Operations Research and Management

ORMS (operations research and management science) has a few requirements as apparently it is impacted.
"A minimum of 3.20 GPA is required for the following courses: Economics 1 or 2 or 3, Math 53 and 54, and Business Administration 10. Declaration limits are in place for this major - declaration is on a space-available basis only."

If I meet these requirements can they turn me down? I ask because I meet the requirements so far, but I don't want to waste time on UGBA10 if theres a high probability of not being accepted in to the major.

Thanks.

oh and if relevant I am a transfer student accepted into L&S.

Not only you have to take Econ 1, Math 53/54, and UGBA 10, but there’s also E7 which none of these courses isn’t a walk in the park.

how competitive are E7 and UGBA10?

planning on taking them my first semester.

Frankly, I think E7 is too much for a freshman to take it as his first course in college. Much time is required (minimum of 8~10 hours a week) to finish the weekly assignments and it demands a lot of academic maturity to understand the material such as ODE and Big O.

I’ve taken object oriented programming using C++, will that make this course any easier? I’m also a huge computer nerd if thats relevant. the only reason I don’t take CS as my major is I like to separate my work from my hobbies, when they mix I get miserable. (contrary to most people who like to turn their hobbies into their careers :P)

oh I’m also coming in as a Junior not a frosh.

Oh, forget what I said then about academic maturity then lol.

thanks for the info upmagic, been googling this for days.
