I am currently signed up to take calc bc, ap gov., ap world history, ap physics, honors english and honors spanish 4. I was wondering if i should change my schedule and take ap english three instead of honors english three and honors spanish 4. Is my original schedule challenging enough or should i change it.

The most important part about your schedule is that it needs to be something you can succeed at. You don’t want to overload yourself, get bad grades, and hurt your GPA. But at the same time, you need to challenge yourself as much as possible.

I would suggest, though, that if your school offers an AP version of something, that you take the AP version. It will be more fulfilling in the long run.

If switching to AP English requires that you drop Spanish as well as switch out of English, maybe it’s not a good idea. You could always take the AP exam without taking the class–if you get a 5 without the class it would probably be more impressive than getting a 5 after taking an AP class–Spanish, however, would be harder to self-study, since hearing and repeating speech is very important. Then again you didn’t say you were taking the Spanish AP, and AP English (the class) is actually a very worthwhile experience…

it’s challenging enough. do what you like (including enjoying your senior year!)

If i wasn’t planning on taking ap spanish, would taking ap english be the better option?

Thanks for the help, I compromised and decided to take ap calc, ap english, ap physics, ap world history and spanish 4 (dropped ap gov.)
