<p>If you are apply to multiple schools, do you need to ask those that write your letters of recommendations to write multiple letters or can you use the same ones for multiple schools? </p>

<p>As far as I know, each school uses its own LoR system and form. The recommenders will be responsible for registering to the system and submitting their own letters. You however may need to inform them of what schools your applying to</p>
<p>I figure they just copy and paste the same letter into the different forms, and tweak it when necessary.</p>

<p>It usually proceeds as Slorg describes. There’s usually a bit of tailoring for each program, but no one writes every single letter from scratch.</p>
