question about mid year reports

if we haven't been accepted yet (I turned my application in around january 15th so i don't expect to hear back until april 1st) then do we still have to turn in our mid year reports? or is it solely for the people who have been deferred? any clarification would be great. thanks :)

you must turn them in if you got the bad deferral letter. if you got the good one, you don’t have to.

oooo sorry i probably should’ve cleared this up lol.
i haven’t been accepted, deferred or rejected yet. i turned in my application in late january.

If your mid year reports are good why not send them in, I read a few post of cc users who did not apply as ER but the school has sent request for their midyear reports. I found this surprising, as I thought this would only be request for those deferred. Though with recent articles about University of Michigan possibly considering being part of Common Application, and noting that all the schools I’ve applied to on Common Application require mid year reports reguardless, the process of University of Michigan also asking for mid year reports to students applying after ER is much less surprising.

hmm well I didn’t do as well as I would’ve liked lol that’s the problem. i had never gotten a B until this semester in high school, and i actually ended up with 2 Bs this semester. my rank didn’t drop buy my GPA was only around 4.42 or something like that
the grade break down was something like this

ap literature - B
ap economics - A
ap gov - A
ap physics - B
ASB (student government) - A
multi variable calculus - A
art 1 - A

do you think it would be worth sending that in?
my overall GPA dropped like .05 and i got 2 more Bs than i’ve ever gotten before, so that’s why i’m a little hesitant

I couldn’t imagine your application being rejected due to two B’s, especially senior year. I don’t see your grades as being horrible, it’s risky but I probably would send it due to recent request of 7th semester grades to non ER apps.
