It appears that NOLA Experience is highly regarded. My question is about logistics and the schedule. So kids arrive a week before school starts (Monday) for NOLA Experience with a couple suitcases. Does Tulane arrange transportation from airport or do they need to taxi? When they get to campus do they get put into their own dorm rooms? Or just some dorm room? They do cool stuff all week. (Can I do it too?? JK) Event ends Friday but move-in isn't until Saturday. So Friday they have to spend with parentals at hotel, who have presumably driven from where ever with remaining stuff in the back of the car, yes? Then move-in is Saturday and parents have to go away by Sunday? Do I have this straight? (Sorry if my OCD is showing...)

I did NOLA experience last year and I definitely recommend it. I will try to answer your questions:
They pick you up at the airport and bring you to Tulane… so no cabs needed. Then everyone went to Reily (the gym) with their belongings. You split stuff pretty much into a small suitcase or duffle to take with you to go to a campsite and you leave the rest of it there and locked up. I left my laptop in the locked up room and did not have any problems, but if you’re worried you can have the parents bring it.

Then you get back from the camp (or atleast most of the tracks) midweek where you move into YOUR dormroom. You don’t have a lot of time to unpack but you have access in and out and will sleep there for the rest of the time, including Friday when the program ends unless one chooses to stay in a hotel with their parents. The students will have more free time on thursday and friday during the NOLA week so if their parents are there they can start moving stuff in for real and potentially be all finished and settled in before move in day even happens. Last year I let my roommate bring all her stuff in on Friday so she wouldn’t have to go through the chaos on Saturday.

Then there’s stuff for parents and students on Saturday afternoon and parents usually leave by Sunday.

Hope this helps, if you have any other questions regarding NOLA, let me know!

Thanks very much! That really covered it!
