question about nyu application

Says did you submit social security number and do you understand this requirement. Not applying so not submitting social security number but do understand the requirement. How should this be answered? Yes or No. Thank you.
U.S. citizens and permanent residents applying to our New York and/or Shanghai campuses must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by our deadlines to be eligible for all forms of financial aid, including NYU scholarships. In order to be considered, you must provide your Social Security Number on the Common Application. Have you entered your Social Security Number (if you have one) and do you understand this requirement?

I have the same exact question! I’m not applying for financial aid, does that mean SSN isn’t required??

Hey Martin Paul, I’m still confused, which did you eventually choose?
