Question about NYU Tisch

Hello,

I'm a high school sophomore but am interested in the Clive Davis department of recorded music at tisch at NYU. the program requires a creative portfolio and the acceptance rate is around 10%. is it possible to be rejected for a specific program but still go to the school? what I'm trying to ask is if I didn't get in to clive davis, could still go to nyu on something like general studies assuming I have good enough grades?

any help appreciated!

Unfortunately, based on what i’ve read on their website, you will either get into tisch or not into the school. They also won’t tell you whether you were rejected by tisch, general admissions, or both. You can try to transfer in the following year, though.

yeah, for NYU it’s either admissions to a school or rejection except for a few instances (like my big bro- the tennis coach pulled some strings i guess… )
