Question about Online classes/

Is it possible for me to take more than one online class that all major Florida universities will count as credit before I start school in the Fall? I applied too late to get into the Summer term for one of the school I applied to, and I really want to get 60 credits by the start of next Fall, so I'll need to get some credits before I start this Fall. Also, how would I get access to online classes that are accepted by UF, FSU, UMiami, and other colleges?

Also, how many classes could I take at a university during Summer before my Sophomore year?

Thanks for the help.

Not quite sure how Florida works but, usually at the local community college if it’s in the state you can take some online courses. That might be an option. As far as the University is concerned, some colleges have a unit cap for summer semester. You will have to check with your university. If they don’t you can take as many as you can handle, but I wouldn’t recommend going crazy. Summer classes are very fast-paced.

so can you take the community college courses whenever you want or do they have a strict schedule?

In my experience they have a schedule that coincides with the their term system. Sometimes they will shorten them into fast-track and condense the instruction into maybe 6 or 8 weeks instead of a full term. Since most online classes are still instructor run they usually have a set start and stop date. There may be some programs out there that offer online courses that you can probably do all on your own, but you’d have to check with your university and see what programs they accept. Usually it is an accreditation issue that causes universities to not accept credits from online schools because they don’t adhere to the same curriculum guidelines.

This may be a little late but this may help you for future reference! You can apply to be a “transient student” at your local university/state college. Your basically there to just take the class and not working toward a degree from that specific university/college. I’m a student at FSU and just completed an online class at FAU (I also live in the town FAU is in) for Summer B (a mini semester the 1st 6 weeks of summer). There is Summer A which lasts the whole summer and summer C which is the last 6 weeks of summer.
