Summer online classes @ FSU Question?

HI—
Currently a freshman @ FSU and doing well and have a question for anyone-
I live in South Florida and interested in taking online courses this summer.
1. Which courses are available over summer and when do we register for summer?
2. Will taking summer online classes suffice for summer attendance requirements?
3. How does financial aid work over the summer?
4. For a science major, which summer classes do you recommend?

The Summer 2013 registration information will be up I believe the week before Spring Break, with registration opening either the Monday after Spring Break, or a week after Spring Break.

Yes, as long as you take the number of credits required to fulfill that stipulation. I don’t know though if taking say, half the credits for two summers would fulfill it or what, so I’d recommend taking the required number all at once (I think it’s 9 credits?)

You have to apply specifically for summer financial aid. The application should be on Blackboard already, under your Financial Aid Toolkit. Fill it out, and then FSU will process summer financial aid offerings in a few weeks, and you’ll know what you’re likely going to be “awarded” for summer.

That depends on what science major. A lot of science majors don’t really offer many online classes, so you probably won’t be able to take a class that is specifically required for your major.

If you have any liberal studies requirements (a humanities credit, or social science or whatever), take those. If you need any Humanities courses, HUM3321 Multicultural Film is pretty easy (only 1 “big” assignment, with weekly short essays).
