For someone who has the scores for both the “see blue” scholarship and the bluegrass sprit scholarship, what are the chances of receiving them? From the website, it appears that the first people with the minimum qualifications that apply and get accepted receive them. I could be completely wrong. Could someone help to clear things up about what it takes to receive them and how competitive they are? Thanks!
The intent of UKy seems to be to award as many scholarships as they can. For those applying by the stated deadline, they intend to offer the larger of the two amounts that one would qualify to receive in terms of the non-competitive scholarships. They word things in a way that does not guarantee this to protect themselves in the event that if something happens that they cannot award it to everyone who would qualify or who qualifies after the deadline, they are not bound by their words.
With that said, everyone that I know in this situation has received the maximum non-competitive scholarship that they were eligible to receive, as long as they met the priority deadline. I am not sure what amount is offered if the deadline is not met. The University is REALLY generous in terms of the amounts that they offer. Whichever admissions counselor/recruiter is assigned to your school would be a good person to touch base with to ask questions about this, or just to show your interest in the school. They are really friendly and informative.
@NaperMom thank you so much that is extremely good information.
