I am in a quad room, and I checked out the floor plan and all. My question was whether or not you actually have one person you will actually be in a room with or if you just decide among yourselves. Our assignments were kinda confusing, so I was just wondering. Thanks for any help!

What kind of a quad setup do you have? Is it one, two, or three rooms? And what dorm are you in cause that may make a difference too?

I am in Badin, with three rooms.

Well since you have 3 rooms, it usually is 2 bedrooms and a central shared common room although you may want to talk with your rectress and see if you can work with another setup like 4 all in one room (which I don't know if the rooms in Badin are big enough to do).

I know ResLife is a little confusing about the setups. My roommate was listed as being in the common room and then my two other quadmates were listed as living in the third room even though everyone I know that lives in a quad in my dorm has it setup for 2 bedrooms and a common room.

I had a friend from Farley who had a situation with room picks where there was some mess up with ResLife and so ResLife gave them a common room across the hall from their bedroom. So anything can be possible in this situation.

Okay, thanks for all the info!

I am in a 3 room quad in Keogh. Are the common rooms furnished? It says that there is modular furniture and that you can loft without a loft kit. How does that work. The dorm book suggests a a futon; where does that go? In the common room?

I would assume that the futon would be for the common room, which you will have to provide furniture for. You get a desk and a chair (which is not comfortable) but extra seating is very nice. You can get that cheap in South Bend though if you are willing to go to Goodwill or what not (or you could get something nicer, up to you.

As for the modular furniture, this is what it is like lofted. http://housing.nd.edu/graphics/gallery/full/halls/fisher/sr16-w.JPG I personally like it! I am a big guy, and I do mean a big guy, and I had no problems with my lofted bed supporting me or being stable so no worries.

Looking at the picture and the link you provided and other housing pics, Irish--I'm a little confused. With the modules in Keogh do you get a separate closet or is it open and part of your loft module? In the linked picture it looks like a bookcase, but in some of the housing site pics it looks like a closet. Just wondering....

I was afraid that would catch you guys. The picture is from Fisher which has closets built into the walls, so we get bookcases. However, Keough does not have closets, so you will have a closet there instead of a bookcase. I hope that helps. I just wanted to show you guys what it looks like lofted as all. You also can easily bunk the beds, which is what my roommate and I do and prefer.

Irish is there a dresser in the room or does evertything go in that closet thining?

Depends on the hall. For Keough, it all goes in the closet :(. Sorry.

Any room for a small chest or something for socks and underwear?

Yes. In fact, the dresser usually has one drawer where I kept all of that stuff. However, you usually can find space in your room for a chest. I actually just used a box in my closet for it though, lol
