I am considering transferring as a junior in college, and was wondering after 80-90 credits how heavily the SATs are weighted? The reason I ask is because I have an 1100 SAT score (old test) and I was considering retaking the SATs before I apply.

On the other hand I started off college pretty poorly, but since I took a semester off I have a 3.88 in my last 47 credits out of 79 credits, and expect this progress to continue up to the point where I transfer . Will this be looked at more importantly than my overall GPA?

Depends on the college, I know that for the schools I applied to, UNC and USC, you wouldn't have to turn in SAT scores if you've taken that many credits. Question is, how many schools are willing to accept you after you have taken that many units.

Well in my school I believe junior status starts at 64 and ends at 96, so I assumed it would be more or less the same for each school. Also, don't some schools base it on transferable credits, in which case I am sure that number would slim down for most of the more competitive schools.

I actually applied to USC and they have held reviewing my application until I fax them my Spring grades. I got a 4.0 this semester, as well as the improvement stats I mentioned above. Do you think this would weigh significantly in their decision in terms of my college performance? Granted the classes I took this semester were all 300 level management classes.

To be honest, I'm not too familiar with their process. I didn't keep up on it too much. You might want to try the USC thread though, there's a lot of people in there with a lot more knowledge on the subject.
