Hi, I have a question about SAT score.

Let's say there are two students: Student A with CR 710, Math 740,W 710

And student B has CR 800 Math 800 W 660

Assuming these students have similar GPA, similar AP courses/test scores, and other stuff,

which one would the college favor? Is it better if sectional scores are even?

That’s probably not the best hypothetical example, because many colleges are returning to the old two-score model in anticipation of the SAT switching back. That would make Student B far more competitive, with a 1600, although Student A’s 1450 is nothing to apologize for. I think you might have made an arithmetical error, furthermore. Student A has a 2160; Student B has a 2260. Student B still has the more impressive composite score. In more general terms, it would depend greatly on the school, and what the student is applying for. An Engineering school will certainly prefer the student with the 800 in Math.
