My teacher finished filling out a Secondary school report today, and I've just realized there was a School Report Part II to the Harvard application. (I will apply online, btw, and Common app's checklist didn't say anything about School Report Part II! I was just going through Harvard viewbook and ran into it...) Is that required to send in? I am kind of confused since commonapp.org didn't say anything about it :(

Are you maybe talking about the Mid Year report or the Final report? These have to be sent in in February/when you've finished school.

These are the forms the common application says Harvard wants:
"2 Teacher Evaluation(s), School Report, Mid Year Report, Final Report, International Supplement to the Secondary School Report, Homeschool Supplement to the Secondary School Report"

If you're homeschooled or an international student, you need to send in these supplements as well. Otherwise, the teacher evaluations and the school reports are enough for now (until you need to send in the midyear report.)

Wow! The same thing just happened to me. I didn't see the "Part II" until tonight and totally freaked out. I just emailed my counselor, but we are on break until Jan 7...so Idk how important it is. Anyone know?

I just barely missed that part of the viewbook before I gave all my forms to my counselor. Anyways, I called them a couple days ago, and they said I had all the forms I needed in, so.....

Thanks, guys. Glad to hear I'm not the only one! :)

I gave that "part II" to my class teacher and he told me he'll fill it out by tomorrow

No, that's different. I was specifically talking about School reports "part II" that is in the Harvard viewbook but not on the common app site. I checked on Harvard web site to see their checklist and it was there for the download saying something like "(not on the common app web page)" next to the PDF link. But if they're not saying it on the Common app page and HansTAR had all the necessary papers in even without it, I guess it doesn't matter as much?

You know, despite this "omigosh Part II??!" thingy, I actually like doing the Harvard supplement. It's fun :D It feels like the school really wants to get to know you because you can show so much more about yourself compared to the supplements of most of the schools that basically ask you to prove why they should accept you.

OMG..does this mean we're screwed if we didn't send the SECOND PART of the school report on time? or can we send it later? because we don't get back to school until the 7th!!

Don't panic, guys. Previous threads have said schools are forgiving on the dates of the parts of the application that are from people other than the student. Just get the form to your counselor when school starts and you should be fine.

I really agree with boho_girl that I felt like Harvard really wanted to know who I was. When I visited there, they seemed much more open to supplementary materials/recommendations...it really seemed like in the middle of all this ivy-application craziness, they actually cared.

Yea, I really thought the supplement was much better than Stanford's. It gave me the opportunity to show my self the way I wanted to be represented rather than have to answer the straight forward questions that many other schools make you do.
