Interesting question. I don’t know for sure, but I have an idea.

This is a freshman year at UW, and when I applied last year, I submitted both SAT and ACT. On my unofficial transcript, for the SAT, the math and reading scores are displayed from my single highest overall SAT sitting, and for the ACT, my composite score from my only sitting is also displayed. This leads me to believe that since I know UW considers these SAT subscores and displayed them on the unofficial transcript, then since only my composite ACT score is displayed on my transcript, perhaps they only consider the composite score instead of your individual ACT subscores.

This theory is in no way verified, but in a way it makes sense. Regardless, I would send in your higher composite score since there’s no way you can lose here. If your reading and writing scored decreased yet your composite score increased, you must have had big gains in the math and science sections.
