does anyone know which subject is easier to self study and get a 5 on the AP test? AP Stat or AP Environmental?

And would i be able to finish studying it and be prepared for the test, considering i only have about 4 months?

From what I have gathered, both are relatively easy to self study and get a 5 with the right materials. And I think you'll have enough time. I am starting to self study for Psych next week. Good luck!

Both are easy... I will personally say that I got a 5 on Environ Sci with NO STUDYING... I keep up with a lot of current events and pollution stuff, so it wasn't to hard - If you want to self-study environmental science, just look at the smartypants guide: its so thin and the fonts so large it looks like a childrens book, but should give you enough for at least a 4, probably a 5

Stat, I'm not really a good source on this, but I'm sure a good book like Barrons will be all you need.

Both tests are EASILY studiable in 4 months.

ChadMan, you are probably a lot more motivated than I am, but I would not start self-studying for Psych until March (maybe just spend 1 day on Psyc before then to familiarize yourself to what you'll be studying later, but focus on other APs before then)... there are many people on CC, me being one of them, that can tell you that Psych is EASILY studiable in less than a week - just get Barrons or 5 Steps to a 5 and you're set

thanks tapedDuck and chadman, so im definitely gonna take environmental. when do you think i should start studying? i dont really have any past experience with this topic at all.
Also, is ap stat easy enough that i could possibly take both of them, or is that just too much for self-studying with only 4 months before the ap tests?

You can take both...

I'd recommend studying for Stat right now (I really don't have experience in this)

For Env Sci, get the smartypants book... you can finish the book in 3 hours - and if you feel the need to prepare some more, google "internet archives ap" and the first result should be a site with animations for a couple AP tests, including Env Sci (don't think it has anything for Stats, though)

k. thanks for your help.

does anyone know any good books for ap stat?

I plan to get Barrons 2008 (already ordered) - I plan to self study this, like you - first impression seems like a very good, thorough book from reviews (I almost always get Barrons books)

EDIT: was thinking of different subject

for my statistics textbook, i was thinking of using my bro's old one: "statistics for business and economics" by mcclave, benson, and sincich. Has anyone used this book before? cuz i looked around, and they said that the best textbook to use is "the practice of statistics." is the textbook i have good enough or should i get the recommended one?

Also self studying AP Stats...

I'm using "Statistics in Action: understanding a world of data"...it was written by the guy who helped create the AP statistics Exam...so it inevitably covers everything on the exam. And it is AP Stats specific...excellent book.

I will supplement this textbook with barron's
