Question about sending AP Scores to Colleges

Hi CC!

I have a question regarding sending my AP scores to colleges; are they included as I send my SAT scores? If not, how do I send them? I'm very curious as I still do not know how to access my AP scores on the College Board website, and there doesn't seem to be any proof as to when and how I performed on the AP Exams except for the letters College Board send me.

Thanks guys!

No APs aren't on your SAT Score Report. You will have to send a separate report, which costs $15 per school.

Also, you can't access AP Score Online, only by phone/mail.

Do students regularly send their AP test scores to PROSPECTIVE colleges as part of the application process? I'm presuming that if a student performed well on the AP exams, it would be additional validation that the student is prepared for college level work. Is this something that the college admissions departments expect to be reported?
It seems like the AP reporting system done on the telephone is designed to be used primarily once the student has been accepted.

Self-reporting AP test scores is generally sufficient for application purposes. (On the Common App, it is expected that the student will do so.) The student then sends the official score report only to the school he or she will attend, and then only if the AP scores would grant credit or placement.

Thank you, Chedva, for the input! Glad to know it's adequate to report them on the common app.
