Hello everyone. So last night, I just received my ACT Scores. They were:
Composite 27
English 26
Math 34
Reading 23
Science 26
Combined English/Writing 25 (Writing 08)

My SAT scores were:
Reading 570
Writing 600
Math 700
Total 1870

So here's the thing. I am planning on sending just my SAT scores because from what I researched, my SAT scores look better than my ACT. However, I realized that when I signed up for the ACT, I imputed the mandatory 4 colleges that the scores will be sent to, and now I can't take them back. I was not familiar with how it worked so I just chose four random UC's. It's not that I don't wish to go to these colleges, it's just that I haven't decided if I want them to see my scores. The four colleges were:
UC Davis
UC San Diego
UC Berkley
Cal Poly SLO

So my question is:
1. Will my chances of getting into these colleges be affected because they will have both my SAT and ACT score?
2. Is there anyway to stop the score sending? I called them and they said that it's too late, but they can always simply cancel my scores, making them invalid. Is this recommended if I don't want them to see my scores?

If you send both, college will choose that one it believes is better for you in determining admission so it will not be an issue. Moreover, in your case your scores are not really far apart so there is really no issue. With ACT you can cancel a score after you receive the test score and ACT will send notice to any of those colleges of the cancellation and colleges may void the test, but again in your case it is not necessary.

Also be aware that if you decide to send another test score to the UCs, you should send only to one UC; likewise for the Cal State’s (and Poly’s) you should send any ACT score to one campus and any SAT score just to CSUMentor. With the UCs, if you send a score to one UC, the others to which you apply automatically get it from the one (net effect that this has on your prior ACT score that you sent is that you have already sent it to all UCs). With the CSUs, after you send an ACT to any campus, you then go on-line and use the CSUs ACT Scores Manager Tool and designate the other CSU’s to get the score for no extra charge. For SAT, you send only to the CSUMentor and all CSU (including Poly) campuses to which you apply will automatically get it.
