Question about Subject Tests

I am 9 grade student, I currently take Honor Physics.
1:- With SAT 2 practice books, is it enough to take SAT2 Physics? Do I need AP course to have enough knowledge?
2:- The same question with SAT 2 Biology and Chemistry?
3:- What math level on SAT2 Math 2? Do I need to learn Pre-Calculus or Calculus? Or just Algebra 1,2 and Geometry?
4:- When I take SAT2 test, how many colleges can I choose to send? Can I send the score later after the result?

Please advise.

1: I’m less than a semester into my non-AP non-honors physics course and I’m fairly certain that I got an 800.
2: Sorry, I’ve never taken the biology or chemistry subject tests. =
3: I saw a bit of pre-calculus (limits), but there was only one question on it and it was easily solved with logic. Really though, there’s so few pre-calculus questions though that it won’t hurt you much to not know it.
4: When you take the test, you’re allowed to send it to four colleges for free (without knowing the result). If you wait until you get your results, you can send it to (I believe) as many colleges as you like for $10 each. Considering you’re a freshman, I’d recommend the latter.

OregonSenior,

Please show me how can you do it? What prep book do you using?
Thanks for #3, 4.

1) I haven’t taken the Physics test, but it’s probably best if you have a teacher to help you understand the concepts. You should be fine if you’re disciplined and are good at self-studying. There are MANY online resources that you can use to your advantage. AP knowledge is not required, but if your school offers AP Physics B and you plan on taking it, your best bet would be to take the Physics subject test at the end of that year.

2) Biology can definitely be done using just a prep book. I recommend Princeton or Barrons. Chemistry would probably be better with a class, since you need a teacher to help teach you the concepts.

3) Math Level 2 requires all the knowledge up to Pre-Calculus. The Pre-Calc concepts are not very difficult, they’ll mostly deal with trig function (graphs) and very rarely will they ask to evaluate a limit. You definitely do not need Calculus. The test is MOSTLY Algebra and trig.

4) With every test registration, you get to send your scores to up to four colleges for free. However, it is unlikely that you will even make use of this until your senior year. You can choose to send your scores to however many colleges you want, for $10 per college. Yes, you can send your scores after you receive the results. Some colleges will require that you send ALL of your scores, so you NEED to send all of your test scores regardless of how well you do on them.
