Question about supplement

The title is:
"What are the unique qualities of Northwestern - and of the specific undergraduate school to which you are applying - that make you want to attend the University? In what ways do you hope to take advantage of the qualities you have identified? (300 word maximum)"

Is it ok if I focus on just one aspect of Northwestern's WCAS that I really like? The question asks for 'qualities' so I'm worried I'm not answering the question if I write about just one.

I think this will be okay. Maybe you can focus on multiple things about that one aspect that can offset the specificity of your essay? Just a suggestion. Besides, in my opinion, it’s better to be passionate about one or two things than ramble about a laundry list of aspects, especially with the 300 word max.

Your plan sounds fine to me. The key word here is UNIQUE (as in specific to Northwestern) and not the plural form of QUALITIES. Explain why Northwestern is a good fit for you, using details that show you’ve done your research and also highlight what you would add to the University community.

Thanks :)

@bamboo17 my northwestern essay can only be 300 words and I’m really struggling. Can you read this?
Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Lyman Fran Baum once wrote, “no thief, however skillful, can rob one of knowledge, and that is why knowledge is the best and safest treasure to acquire.” From a young age, I had intense seizures that would last for hours. My curiosity to understand what took over me during those days drove me all the way to the University of Oxford last summer where I researched and learned about neuroscience. However as thrilling as it was to learn about the brain, there was still a connection lacking between my interests and career. I always needed more of hands on experience and that is why I would like to attend Northwestern’s School of Education and Social Policy’s Human Development and Psychological Services program. Their curriculum will help me explore a different aspect of my love for pre-medicine studies and that delves into the world of research.
In addition, the internship opportunities such as the summer Field Studies Program at SESP will help me convert my learning and research skills into a leadership opportunity where I can connect medicine and policy making into one. At the same time however, I will be able to pursue my other interests at Northwestern and give back to the community. I will join the Undergraduate Premedical Society and GlobeMed as an aspiring activist in pre-med. Furthermore, I am thrilled to have the chance to pursue my own projects such as a research apprenticeship with Emma Adams on the topic of social influences on stress and health.
Given all these chances on my own and to interact with peers, I feel I will comfortable at Northwestern. And by the time I am a junior or a senior, I will be able to help other students who share the same goals and ideals in pre-medicine as I do.

I PM’d you. Just some future advice, be careful about posting your essays on the forums! People can steal them, especially now when deadlines are approaching. Always PM!
