Question about the Cinema Studies application

To apply to the Tisch Cinema Studies major, you have to also submit the following essay (from the NYU website):

A two-part portfolio is required. Part 1 is a 5- to 10-page essay on a film, a director, or any film-related topic.

In school, every essay I write is double-spaced. Is the page limit for a single-spaced essay or a double-spaced essay??

I did double. no one wants to read 10 pages of single spaced.

I did double as well.

I don't think they are going to be very strict about the page limits. My essay was seven pages, double spaced, with pictures (screenshots of scenes that I used as examples in the text of my essay). Without the pictures, it is only five pages double spaced, the bottom limit of the description.

If the essay is on a good topic and is insightful, I doubt they will notice if it is too short or too long.
