Question for Cinema Studies students at NYU Tisch School of The Arts about essay

Hello,

I am planning on applying early decision to Tisch School of the Arts, specifically for Cinema Studies.

I've written my 5-10 page essay already but I am still wondering what kind of film-related topics people who have gotten in wrote for their portfolio when they were applying. In addition to your topic I'm also interested in the GPA and SAT Score you got.

Thanks

I have the same question as you. Are you a big criterion fan? I’m curious whether film knowledge whether it’s art house or main stream is important or not. If you write a fancy essay on Godard, will the people at Tisch think you’re a film expert and recruit you or will it be just you really just showing off your film knowledge?
*just adding some extra qs

Hello I got into Tisch as Cinema Studies.
I wrote about the CGIs and special effects in the films… I didn’t really analyze the art and philosophies in the film but rather the technique and trend of the special effects.
