I was looking at the supplemental materials required for the application to Tisch’s Cinema Studies program, and was a little confused by what was desired for the “one-page statement.” The requirements say they want a one page-statement that answers the questions:
-Have you taken any cinema-related classes?
-What areas of cinema studies most interest you (film genres, directors, theory, etc.)?
-What are your career aspirations (film journalism/criticism, film curating, filmmaking, etc.)?
I had two questions about this part of the application. First, is the “one-page” single or double spaced? Second, is this something where they want us to show a lot of creativity in how we answer it, or is it okay to just be pretty straightforward and answer the questions directly? I’m just struggling a little to try to make some creatively written answer to so many questions in one page.
