Question about the composite score of the ACT

Quick question.

Do colleges only look at the composite score or do they look at individual scores as well? Obviously 36s across all 4 subjects would look better than two 36s and two 35s, but do colleges actually care to that extent?

Sorry for being the typical college confidential poster, but I've taken a few practice tests and as of right now, I have two 36s, a 34 and a 30 (science.) The goal is a 36 composite any way I can get it.

I’m sure they look at individual scores. A 30 composite could mean 30 on all four subjects or perhaps a 36 on three of the subjects and a 12 on the other one.

The composite score by far matters the most but obviously they at least glance at the individual scores. I’m sure for STEM the math score is looked at more closely.
