Question about the generosity of RU financial aid office

Hello, so the financial aid office gave me $2,000 a year in grants, and I was wondering if it is possible to ask them for more? I was hoping they could match UMD's $4,000 a year offer in grants, or possibly even surpass that. If it is do-able, how should I go about approaching it?

I highly doubt it. Its a state school so they have so many people to give grants to.

My son did not get any scholarship money from Rutgers but got 5200 from TCNJ and 16,000 from Rowan . We called Rutgers and also spoke to admissions at the accepted student day. We were turned down, as there is only so much money and the class was very competitive this year. You can try but I would be surprised if they gave you anything. good luck

Generally gotmilk is right. As a state school, they’re not known for giving much in financial aid. Personally I got a scholarship but no actual financial aid.

You may have a chance at getting more aid if another place is giving significantly more…or maybe something added to credentials such as a higher SAT score…I wouldn’t count on it though.
