By when should the graded paper be submitted? How many pages will they be looking for? How many pages did u guys submit for ur papers?

I am stuck. We dont have graded papers at our school. I'm international.

How about a test paper? I dunno...

The paper is "due by" 1/15, so it would be a good idea to get it in the mail soon. I don't know whether the due by date is postmark or receipt, but better safe than sorry. My son sent one that's about 1,000 words.

I think the website has instructions for what to submit if you don't have a graded paper. Whitman is known as a "writing school," so is very interested in being able to evaluate your writing. I recommend taking this requirement seriously.

i have a question about this too: my paper is from a college class, and we email our stuff to the professors. so, should i just print out the paper and write the grade on top? what do you guys think?

We don't have grading system as well in our school. So I wrote an analytical paper and requested my English teacher to grade it.

manasm,
How long was ur paper?

mine was 5 pages long double spaced.
i hope that's not too long.....:/

I don't know if this helps, but I had previously emailed the admissions office, and this was the very nice reply I received from ms Lidzbarski:

"You can indeed feel free to send in papers in "soft copy" format, either via email or fax, however you wish. If you're unsatisfied with past examples of writing, you are also welcome to write a new critical analysis on a book you have recently read. Please try to limit the piece to 4-6 pages, double-spaced, and to write on a piece of literature written in English. In the writing samples, we are looking for content, organization, good sentence structure and diction. We would like to see that you can craft a thesis and follow the argument through in your paper."

Yup, all the best with your supplements!:)

@ skygirl mine was about 5 pages long double spaced, font size=11

Thank you hellagoodin,
That is truly helpful! I think I will try to do sth on a book I read and email the assignment.

Manasm n smiley,
5 pages! U guys inspired me to try for 5 pages too! Will I succeed?

Have faith, you'll succeed.

My teacher sets a limit of 2 pages, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 font.

So, naturally, that's what I sent. Should I have included a disclaimer? Bah.

When I sent in my graded paper, I also sent in a copy of the assignment, if that answers your question
