Hello! I recently received my acceptance letter to UC Berkeley, and I am really interested in their business program. I am currently a econ major/pre-haas. I definitely plan on applying during my sophomore year of college, and I was just wondering if the pre-reqs for that class are as difficult as some describe them to be? I toke AP Calc AB last year and received an A-. Currently, I am in AP Calc BC, and I have an "A" so far. I also toke AP Economics during my first semester senior year, and I absolutely loved the class. It covered both micro and macroeconomics, and I ended up with an overall 95% in the class. As for the statistics pre-req, I toke AP Stats during 10th grade, and I got an 95%. I don't know how my high school classes reflect my potential success for college classes. So, I'm just wondering for those of you studying at UC Berkeley Haas School or just UC Berkeley in general, how difficult would you say the classes are to receive a good grade in?

My daughter is at Haas. She just was accepted. The classes can be hard, but she received A’s or A- in all of them, so it can be done. Competition is high. But Haas is more than the grades. You have to also be involved in the campus, show you are well rounded. And the essays are important. My advice would be to look for several activities you enjoy and foster leadership roles.
