Question about the student body

I am liberal. Would I feel out of place here?

Are the students generally friendly or are they stuck up?
I only ask because the girls and boys at the catholic high schools in my area are pretty awful, and come from well to do families and are bratty.
Perhaps that’s just high school, though?

You won’t feel out of place here for being liberal. While there is a better balance of liberals, moderates, and conservatives here than there are at other universities, the majority of students are at least somewhat left-leaning.

Students are generally friendly, but you’ll always find some that are stuck up. I know what you mean about the Catholic school thing. I’d say that some of those “pretty awful” people do end up here (as they probably do at every university), but you’ll still meet really awesome people who are nothing like that.

I think that no matter where you go, you’re not going to be friends with the entire student body. As long as you find your niche…a group of friends you enjoy…you’ll like your experience. For example, some people might stress that they want a REALLY diverse student body, but when they get to school they only find themselves with friends of the same race. On the other hand, you can go to a school that is not as diverse overall, but find yourselves with a group of really diverse friends. It’s up to you to make this happen. Does this make sense?
