Hey I wondering if you guys think that college will give me some slack with my poor performance on the SAT Writing because English is my third language. I got a 550 on it but a 12 on the actual essay and my CR/M portion is a 1490. Do you guys think that they would possibly overlook the low performance considering my relatively high CR/M and essay score?

You should be completely fine. If I were you, I would NOT worry. Look at it this way: You are only 30 points off from the Honors requirement. So that means you are obviously still in the high range for SAT scores.

Also, it's late for this, but I dang sure hope you mentioned english was your THIRD language on your application. You could have DEF. mentioned this in the additional info section.

Well, I did say that English was not my primary language in my household when asked in the application but never directly said it was my third. I did mention the fact that my parents were refugees and talked about my ancestry in my essay; so, I am hoping they get the idea that English was not my first spoken language. The rest of my application falls at upper 25% of their admitted class (with a lot of ECs/Leadership/Work Experience) so I feel pretty confident on my chances considering I'm a first generation/URM to boot.

I was hoping to see if I can get an appeal to get into Honors anyhow because I did have the required GPA/SAT for it before they added the Writing section into consideration. Do you think that's possible?
