Hi everyone. I have a question regarding waiving TOEFL score. Is there any chance that this waiving could affect the admission decision of the school X, even if it allow you to waive toefl if your score above 650. For example, 2 international student applies school X: one student's stat in which TOEFL is 110 and SAT 1 is 2200, and another student's with only SAT 2200 and no TOEFL. What do you guys think?

Each school has its own rules about when TOEFL is or isn't required. Some will waive TOEFL for a given range of SAT or ACT scores, others never waive TOEFL for students educated in a language that isn't English.

Since the TOEFL requirement can change from one year to the next, you really do have to check the current rules out with each college/university that you are considering.

IF TOEFL is not required by a given college/university because of your SAT/ACT score, then it is just a dumb waste of money to pay to have your TOEFL scores sent to that school. This is not something that you should be worrying about. The college/university in question has already determined that a certain SAT/ACT score is an indication that your English is good enough to study there. The TOEFL would only matter if your SAT/ACT scores weren't good enough. Then it is used as a way to help figure out if you will be able to cope with the language if you are admitted.
