I got denied by Rutgers NB. I am going to attend City College of New York. I might tranfer for Fall 2013 though. I will either tranfer to SAS or Nursing. Any advice on what classes I should take, grades to maintain? What documents will I need when transferring? Yes, I am looking this up on their site, but advice from actual rutgers students/students to be will be great!

Unless you are a registered nurse, you must first enroll at one of our arts and sciences schools to pursue a school-to-school (internal) transfer to the College of Nursing. (RNs may apply for direct transfer admission to our nursing school). Admission to the College of Nursing is very competitive and there is usually an applicant pool of approximately 130 Rutgers students vying for 20-30 spots each year. We only admit students for the fall semester. Decisions are based on several factors; completion of at least 24 credits at your current school, overall grade point average at Rutgers, performance in the sciences and completion of nursing prerequisites. The minimum grade point average to apply is a 3.3.

To be competitive for admission to the School of Arts and Sciences, applicants need a cumulative GPA of around 3.00 along with at least 24 college credits in a strong academic program and no weak or declining grades within the most recent coursework (past two semesters). This is generally what is required but admission depends on the number of spaces available at each school, the number of students who apply, and the quality of those students’ records. These factors change from year to year and vary from school to school within the university.

Transfer applicants are required to submit an application, $65 application fee, and high school and college transcripts.
