Question about transfering to rutgers NB

I'm a business major looking to transfer to rutgers from a cc. I see newark accepts apps but I prefer NB for a better social life. I see that NB business does not accept transfer apps, is there a way I could apply for rutgers and attend there for a bit, then apply to their business school? If so, what school do I apply to at rutgers NB?

kk24odc, NB business school do accept transfer apps. The business school is part of the school of arts and science (SAS) so you must apply to the SAS first, then apply to the business school.

oh thank you! another question, is it possible to get accepted into SAS but not the business school so you can take classes at rutgers and then apply at the business school if you’re a transfer? because I don’t think I have completely every required class to apply to the business school

you’ll start out in SAS where you can finish up your classes and then you apply for the business school :-)

thank you!
how hard is it to get into the business school? :|

also, say if you get rejected from the business school in rtugers while taking courses in SAS, what happpens/what do you do from there?

the NB business school is really competetive. If you don’t have a 3.5+ gpa when you apply, then your chances of getting in are very slim. If you get rejected from the business school and you are already in the SAS, then you have 2 options: pull your gpa up and apply again the following year or change your major. Most ppl I know that were rejected became economic majors.

i’m sorry i’m asking so many questions, it’s just that you’re very useful and i truely appreciate it! last question:

I hear for NB, if i apply as a marketing major when applying to the business school it’s easier to get accepted then if i applied as a finance major. is that true? if so, How hard is it for marketing and accounting?

kk240dc, finance major is the hardest to get into only because it is the most popular. Accounting is the 2nd hardest. Finance and Accounting are the reason NB business school is prestigious as it is. Marketing you will need a 3.3 instead of a 3.5 to apply. These numbers came from the business dean himself. Thus, marketing is easier to get in, and so is management.

thank you!
