Question about trasnfer

Hi, I'm new to CC and was wondering if i could get some help from this board...

I'm a high school senior who will be attending Emory this fall. I didn't get into some of the ivies I applied and I'd like to apply again as a transfer. What are some of the process involved? If I apply for the junior status, do Harvard, Yale and Georgetown SFS require my high school transcript and SAT scores? or will they look at my college resume and gpa from my frehsmen year and mid-term grade for sophomore year? I'd like to apply as a sophomore standing but I allowed my grades to drop quite a bit during second semester of my senior year in high school so I feel very iffy about sending my high school transcript. By slipping, I meant about B+ to B, A- to B or B+ and.. maybe even one C+ or B-..

Thanks so much! =)

Does Yale have external transfer students at all? I heard it is impossible to get in Princeton and Yale by transferring from other schools.(100% sure for Princeton; their transfer rate is 0%) Harvard accept about 5% of transfer applicants and it is truly very competitive. I can't say they won't see you HS grade at all but if you apply Harvard for junior standing, you College GPA is much more important which also means your SAT and HS grade won't be taken into an account that seriously. They also see the trend. So do your best @ Emory

Attempting to transfer to an ivy league school simply because you attend a school which is just below the Ivy leagues in national rankings is a good reason for them to not accept you.

People with legitimate reasons for transferring, and those from 2 year colleges are going to be treated with much more respect then someone who is in it simply for the prestige. Have fun at Emory, make good friends, get involved, and do your homework. Come January or February if you still feel this way, and have some genuine gripe with your school, then start worrying about a transfer application.

If you go into the year assuming you will transfer, you will create a self-fulfilling reason to dislike the school instead of giving it a fair chance.

I just have a question for MT parents out there. Does it really make a difference if your child goes to NYU-Musical theater vs. another program? I would love it if NYU students could also jump in on this.

My s has some great scholarships to Oklahoma City U and Chicago and we are still in the wait game with NYU (because he is a transfer) He know he was accepted into the program because they called but they are slow in sending the award package. May 1st is the deadline and he can't turn down his money that he knows is there for something that is there in theory.
Thanks
