<p>Hi, I am planning on TAGing to UCI in computer engineering. I'm a bit confused by this statement on the UCI TAG website:</p>
<p><a href="TAG%20Applicants:%20any%20three%20courses%20required%20for%20the%20major%20need%20to%20be%20completed%20with%20required%20grades%20by%20the%20summer%20prior%20to%20the%20TAG%20submission%20period">b</a>**</p>
<p>So my question is, do the "three courses required" requirement overlap with the requirements for the engineering school, or is this requirement solely restricted to the "additional" computer engineering requirements?</p>
<p>Here is the course requirements information from the TAG website:</p>
<p>The Henry Samueli School of Engineering</p>
<p>Required for all majors in the School of Engineering unless specified otherwise:
Complete 60 semester or 90 quarter units of UC transferable credit prior to the start of the intended quarter
Meet all course requirements of UC admission with a minimum grade of C or better, unless specified otherwise
Have a cumulative UC transferable GPA of 2.8 (3.2 for TAG), unless specified otherwise
Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in required courses, unless specified otherwise
Complete one year of approved calculus
Complete one year of calculus-based physics with labs (mechanics, electricity and magnetism)</p>
<p>Computer Engineering Additional Requirements
Complete one course in computational methods (e.g., C, C++)
Complete two additional approved courses for the major (see column to the right)</p>
<p>Approved Courses
One course in modern physics
One course in introduction to digital systems and digital logic laboratory which covers Boolean algebra, principles and practices of combinational and sequential logic including CAD methods, basics of programmable logic (FPGAs), and system-level design techniques
Two courses in systems programming
One course in network analysis
One course in multivariable calculus
One course in differential equations
One course in discrete mathematics
One or two additional courses in calculus-based physics with laboratory</p>
<p>So basically, will Calculus I and II count toward the TAG requirement for CE?</p>
