Question about UCSD Profile

Looking at the UCSD profile https://ir.ucsd.edu/_files/stats-data/profile/profile-2017-2018.pdf it says that the average admitted student had 53.1 A-G semester courses. That averages to almost 7 A-G courses a year for all four years. A-G doesn’t include sports, ASB, etc. Do schools offer that many periods in a day? Our school is 0-6 so a student would have to fill every possible period with an A-G to get to 53.1. Am I interpreting this data wrong?

Yes possible especially if some of the A-G courses are taken in Middle school ie. Algebra, Geometry, Foreign Language along with HS summer school.

Other than having PE/Sports each year, my son’s had 6 A-G courses Freshman - Senior year, 2 courses taken during the summer Sophomore/Junior year and 2 courses taken in Middle school for a grand total of 56 semesters of A-G courses.

Thanks. I wasn’t adding in junior high classes.
