Question about which class to take for my first year writing requirement?

So, as of right now, I am enrolled in English 125 (I already bought the books and received an email from the professor and everything), but I was looking at some of the CompLit 122 classes that would satisfy this requirement, and there was one about Lives In-Between Borders that seemed really interesting to me. I really would like to switch but I'm not sure if it's worth it right now...

I took two years of AP English in high school, so I think I am a strong writer, and I feel like the 125 would just be so similar to what I did in high school, so it might be worth it to try something new. However, I also feel like it would be more beneficial to my future writing career at the university, and I'm not so sure about CompLit since they read a lot of foreign stuff. However, since the course includes topics about immigrants and refugees, and I am an immigrant myself, I am just drawn to it. If I switch now though, I would also have to switch the time of my Spanish class and since the CompLit class is closed, that would put me on two wait-lists. However, I would be first on both so I'm sure I would get in, it would just be kind of annoying. Also, I can return my Eng 125 books if I really wanted to.

Also, the CompLit teacher only has a few reviews on Rate My Professor and she seems good, while the Eng 125 teacher has NONE, but from emailing and some searching he seems like a cool, young guy, but obviously, I can't truly tell this way...

Can anyone please help me?!? I don't know what to do! I don't want to regret missing out on the chance to take a unique, seemingly interesting, and rare class!

If you want to take it, go for it. I took a CompLit class to satisfy my freshman year writing requirement and it was fine. If the class appeals to you, you’re more likely to be invested in the topic and want to do well. Shoot the GSI who’s teaching the CompLit class an email asking about the wait list. I was on the waitlist whe I took it, so I sent the GSI an email and got in the class even though it was already full. And in the first week, a lot of people will be switching their schedules around, so you’ll probably be able to get in both classes.
