<p>Do you think it would be alright to talk more about the city/town the college is located in than the specific programs/activities offered at the college? (i.e. I wish to study at Columbia because I want to experience the city life)</p>
<p>Don’t do that. The school already knows it’s in a desirable city. Talking more about why the city/town excites u rather than why the school excites you is like trying to impress a girl by telling her, “I like u because your parents have a nice house.” You need to tell her why u like HER. </p>
<p>I agree with the above. Also there are tons of other colleges located in big cities, or even NY specifically. </p>
