<p>does usc require 11/12th grade teachers for recommendations?
because i have a 10th grade teacher that can write me an amazing rec, but i cant say the same about my 11th grade teacher. </p>

<p>i had one recommendation from a 10th grade teacher and one from a 9th grade teacher, actually... to get recommendations from 11th and 12th grade teachers at my school, you have to write this essay about why you deserve a recommendation and get a peer to write a sample recommendation for you... and i didn't want to do that.</p>
<p>come to think of it though, i think only a counselor recommendation was actually required.</p>
<p>I had my 12th grade ap bio teacher write mine. She knew me a lot better than any previous teachers. I think its better to have someone who knows you better write your recommendation. They'd rather have an 11th grade teacher write it, but I think an outstanding 10th grade teacher rec is way better than an average 11th grade rec. </p>
<p>And yeah... only a counselor rec is required, teacher recs are optional, but they will help, unless your teacher hates you. My counselor was a bumbling idiot who I didn't know at all, so I definitely sent in a teacher rec with my application. lol</p>
