Is walking from Mulford to Kroeber in 10 minutes doable? It doesn't look THAT bad on the map, but it doesn't account for hills or anything else I might not know about. I know I can wait and try it myself at CalSO, but I'd rather know sooner, as I'm trying to work out a few possible schedules now.

If you walk very quickly -- it is practically a diagonal across the entire campus and uphill -- go up toward the Campanile and across the bridge to Faculty Glade, then up the hill, past the music department and music library -- it is the building in front of you -- it fronts Bancroft.

From personal experience, no, it's not doable. Especially if you're trying to get to class. If that's the case, I suggest you leave five minutes before the Mulford class officially ends.

If you're being subtle about it, it shouldn't be a problem. I think it'd be better if you tell your GSI/Professor ahead of time. I had to go from Pimentel to Tolman (which isn't too bad.. except my Pimentel class would always end late), but I told my GSI for my Tolman discussion ahead of time, and he was cool with it.

Commenting on the previous post, the Pimentel-to-Tolman scenario is working backwards: one is walking downhill, which makes a ton of difference. While the walk from Mulford to Kroeber is not deathly uphill, it's surprisingly taxing especially if you are in a hurry and have tense muscles and carrying a load of books on your back.

Walking from Gilman to where Oxford hits Westgate, essentially carving right through the center of campus (downhill) takes me 12 minutes. Again, you will be having to cross the campus diagonally and uphill.

A large lecture hall shouldn't bother anyone, but keep in mind that each professor operates differently: some have very strong introductions, others have important conclusions that help summarize things as the professor sends you on your way out. If either of those classes are discussions, it's best to avoid this trouble since discussion groups are small and any entrance/exiting is noticeable and often times annoying.

Your best bet is to stay out of this situation. This is the great thing about early scheduling- you have the opportunity to test and try out different scenarios towards finding the schedule right for you.

Mulford to Kroeber in 10 minutes is doable if you walk fast and stay near Strawberry Creek instead of going straight uphill towards the Campanile. If you leave Mulford on the hour and walk fast along the best path to Kroeber, you should get there in 10 minutes.
