Can you give me an idea about how classes go on the day before a break or vacation? Do professors expect everyone to be there for a late afternoon class on Wednesday before Thanksgiving, or on the afternoon before winter break? I am trying to make reservations for flights and need to predict how late to make them on those days. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Professors do not expect people to be present on those days, especially the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Most will cancel class that day, and those that hold it generally get around 15-25% turnout.

Be careful though! I had two midterms the Friday before Spring Break this semester (ugh). If you can wait until later to book flights, it might be better.

justforgetme: I had Chemistry 7 the day before Spring Break. I think justforgetme is talking about the Chem 7 and Life Sci 1b (what most premeds have right now for their requirements, I only have Chem 7 this semester) midterms back-to-back the day before Spring Break. My friends who have both classes were very unhappy.

Nice call xjayz. I honestly didn't mind it too much, had a crappy thursday, got everything done, did the midterms + let loose! If it had been two papers due... that would have killed me.

Thanks to you all for the replies. Looks like I better be careful on the reservations.

This week is ridiculous too. I am SO looking forward to reading period when I can relax. And what's up with Chem 7 midterm the second to last day of class? Oh, and HW 10 due during reading period? >:T

In addition, I'm very annoyed at this week's HW.

This week's pset was a whore... I finished it though (so let me know if you have any questions). Just heard about HW during reading period... and that is redic. Chem 7 makes me look forward to Orgo.
