I just logged in today after having not checked it for about a week, and I have the Federal Verification Worksheet too. When I checked before, there would just be nothing except that drop-down menu, which everything I selected would direct me to that "Forbidden" page. My FAFSA did have a * next to my EFC. The due date for mine says 02/15/2010. I checked out the form on Cornell's financial aid website, but I can't find any Cornell ID Number that I can use to fill in for the Verification Wkst...Do I HAVE to call them to get it? Can I fax this sheet to them or mail it?

Gahh...and I thought I was done with all my financial aid stuff.

SVMMom,

Cornell & UNH share a marine bio program .

You could do a lot with legitimate Cornell ID. See if you could sign up for housing, that would be a sign.

I am also a mom that got into a school's acceptance website a day before the notification date, purely by accident.:)

Haha, deferred at Cornell's CAS--got into NYU's CAS (with a pretty early likely letter!)

Still have my fingers crossed for Cornell, but it's nice to know that no matter what happens I will be at a school I love next year.

OMG Vonegutted, SAME HERE! Gosh I really really really really really x 99999999999999999999 want to go to Cornell CAS so badly :(

YEs! They Are So Annoying! I Just Called My Mom From School Panicking, I Thought I Was Done, I Put My app09-xxxxxx In For The ID.....It's Been So Long.....I Can't Wait Until March 31st!

If I get into Cornell.... I will be ECSTATIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Must... go to... Human Ecology... ahhhhhh

I emailed the financial aid office about this and they told me that the federal verification form needs to be submitted together with a copy of parents' 2008 transcript of tax returns that you need to request from the IRS. Submitting just one or the other apparently won't be counted as being received. ("If we receive the completed worksheet without the required copy of the transcript, the form will be considered incomplete.")

And I also emailed them about the Cornell ID Number and they gave me a 7-digit Cornell ID Number like for SVMMom's daughter. Instead of starting with 213, mine starts with 202, and they said, "For the Cornell ID, you are welcome to list the one assigned of 202XXXX."

So does this financial aid notice that a few of you got mean acceptance? I've gotten no contact whatsoever. Hmm.

ChandlerBing

I think it just means we were selected for verification. Does your EFC in FAFSA have a * next to it. That seems to be the common thread.

Although there was someone who got a "likely letter" who also got verification. I think that that one was simply just a coincidence.

SVMMom, I honestly have no idea if there is something next to my EFC. I didn't get involved with financial aid filing, but at least there are a little over 2 weeks until we finally find out.

Good luck to all of you deferrees, hopefully Cornell will recognize our potential.

was there a strict deadline to this bc i did not get anything in the mail for this but checked my status today and in the finaid section it said to fill out the verification form for dependent students. do i still need to do this form or should i wait until i hear back if i get accepted or not?

p.s. i had a * by the efc, as well

Hmm, my financial aid to do list still has nothing in it.
Maybe this stuff has nothing to do with admissions decisions?
But maybe it does...
We'll soon find out, I guess.
