I’m a girl. I approve. :)

I have one guy friend that does this and he pulls it off really well.

^^^
lol i ask myself that every day!
makes my days just a bit more… legendary

Sweet. Is it okay to wear a tie without the suit or dress shirt?

Ehh. Personally, I find it pretty tacky.

Thanks el, voice of reason. If you do it too often, it ruins the pa-zaaz.

Guys who dress nice=hot but I wouldn’t wear a tie without a dress shirt (tacky). Also you’d probably be better off not wearing a suit at school without an occasion

"retro-cut sport jacket with casual light-colored button-down shirt and a skinny tie paired
with dark straight keg jeans and square toe leather slides "

can someone please explain this outfit or give me a pic? I have never heard of any of these terms (besides button down and skinny tie)

lol tie without a dress shirt. sorry, no.

my opinion is that women think suits are gorgeous on men because the fact that they don’t wear them often. and i’m not saying you can’t wear a suit, because if you really want to then by all means wear that suit. however, in all honesty in any normal high school you would probably be laughed at behind your back. save your suit for occasions like quiz bowl, MUN, etc. (: the girls will flock to you there, i’m not even kidding!

if you want to be more formal without being too formal (if you get my gist), you can probably wear idk chinos, blazers, bow ties, whatever. i feel a suit just gets a little too formal at times. might even intimidate people. do you ever get mistaken for a teacher?

(but yeah, personally, i think it’s kind of cool, and i like your confidence.)

[Gilt MANual](http://www.gilt.com/giltmanual/) I like the advice they give on this site.

The drumline at my school dresses up in a different way each day, like Bow Tie Mondays or something. I think it’s cute!
And the freshman brother of one of the drummers wears a suit, with or without the jacket, to school almost every day. People thought it was weird at first, but he looks really good! I’m kind of biased though since I’ve always loved uniforms for school anyway.

I met one of my most interesting friends because he was wearing a suit at an anime convention. True story. Do whatever makes you happy. Don’t worry too much about what most girls think. All that matters is what one particular girl thinks – and if she’s right for you she’ll probably like your suits, too.

Yeah, I’m not going to stop wearing suits. I said do girls like it, not should I keep wearing suits. God, I love suits.

It’s funny you mentioned quiz bowl, because our Academic Team started dressing up to matches this year. Were we the best team? No, but we sure were the classiest.

I’m a guy, and I’ve gotta say, suits are sexy.

thank you. seriously, just be yourself. who cares how quirky you are

It might be hurting your chances with girls. To be honest, it sounds weird and out of the norm. It would be tolerable or even rather “dashing” if you’re attractive, but if you’re not attractive…I wouldn’t wear suits to school. There’s a guy at my school who does that and he’s weird. Really weird.

I used to wear a suit occasionally, but encountered two problems: 1) It’s Texas, so I’m limited to the winter if I want to stay comfortable. 2) It gets really annoying when everyone you see asks the occasion, and you explain that there is none. Even more so when they don’t believe you, and insist that you tell them the reason.

There’s also the concern that the actions of some unscrupulous individual would have undesirable consequences for my attire, so I just don’t really wear a suit any more. It’s too bad, they look so good and are probably the most comfortable clothes ever.

@whoever posted the picture of NPH, the cut of the suit, the collar of that shirt, the shoulders, the excess space at his cuffs and stomach… He almost certainly did not dress himself that day.

That’s more his style.

One guy from 2010 always wore suits and he got into Harvard.
A guy from my class sometimes wears suits and he got into Harvard, too.

Suits = Harvard.

^harvey spector/mike ross, allll the way. :]

Randomly wearing suits reminds me of Charlie from the Perks of Being a Wallflower. Go for it. :)
